Code of conduct

Everyone in the room is here to work. Treat them that way.

Applies to Settle 27, its side events and its online spaces

Example text for the Settle template. Have it reviewed by a lawyer and adapted to your event, your company and your country before you publish.

01. The short version

Be professional, be kind, take no for an answer. Harassment, discrimination and intimidation are not tolerated, on stage, in the audience, at side events or online.

02. What we expect

Respect people's time, opinions and boundaries. Ask before you photograph someone up close. Keep questions to the stage short and actual questions.

03. What is not acceptable

Harassment in any form, offensive comments about gender, gender identity, age, sexual orientation, disability, appearance, race, ethnicity or religion, unwelcome physical contact, stalking, recording people who asked not to be recorded, and sales pitches from the stage.

04. Reporting

Talk to any team member in a pink lanyard, at the help desk by the entrance, or through the contact page. You can report anonymously. We take every report seriously and act on it the same day.

05. What we will do

We may warn someone, ask them to leave the event without a refund, or ban them from future editions. We will help the person who reported feel safe for the rest of the event.

06. Speakers and partners

Speakers and partners follow this code too. Slides and stands must not contain sexual imagery or content that would break it.
